Action Programme 6/7 Feb in London

london 6:7F

On the 6th of February 2014, more than 400 migrants attacked the fences separating the Spanish enclave Ceuta from Morocco. Moroccan military began to attack the migrants from one side, while the Guardia Civil pumped tear gas into the water and shot at people trying to swim around the fences from the other side. 15 dead bodies were found, but activists confirm that many more died this day – estimates vary between 30 and 100.

On the 13th of December, the Spanish Congress passed a new public security bill, widely known as Ley Mordaza (Gag law), which legalizes the immediate push-backs of migrants at the Spanish-Moroccan border. It includes numerous measures criminalizing protests and police abuse denunciations. Three days after it was passed, cops attacked social centres and imprisoned seven anarchist comrades in Barcelona and other Spanish cities.
