The EU-Spanish-Moroccan cooperation kills: Mass arrests, deportations and two new deaths! The forgotten dead!

3carte-octobre-2015

Since 3rd October 2015, the night when 200 migrants attempted to cross the fences in Ceuta and 87 succeeded to do so, several other attempts where made by hundreds of migrants. Afterwards, Morocco increased the military presence and border security measures at the fences.

On 9th October 2015, a Cameroonian and a Guinean migrant died during their attempt to cross the border. The two persons were on a boat which tried to enter Ceuta in the morning of 9th October. However, they were intercepted by the Moroccan Royal Marine, were severely beaten and subsequently died. A dozen of other persons present on the boat and therefore witnesses to these facts, were put in a van, locked in it for 12 hours and subsequently taken to the Fnideq police station. http://cadenaser.com/ser/2015/10/09/internacional/1444425919_850628.html

During these days, all the attempts to cross the border were suppressed with the use of extreme violence by the Moroccan Gendarmerie and the Moroccan Auxiliary Forces. All migrants who attempted to cross the border were violently arrested and taken to Southern Morocco in buses. http://elfarodigital.es/ceuta/politica/171899-marruecos-se-blinda-tras-el-cuarto-intento-de-entrada-consecutivo.html#

Simultaneously, the forests and camps around Ceuta were raided. Hundreds of migrants were arrested and taken to the South of Morocco in buses, the Moroccan forces used extreme violence during these arrests and caused many injuries. All the belongings in the forest camps were burnt or destroyed. Some groups of migrants were left in the desert, others taken to the outskirts of Southern cities.

In Tiznit, there are more than one hundred men, women and children, some of them injured, taken to Tiznit after the raids in the Castillo forest close to Ceuta. They have not eaten for several days and the police prevents them from leaving a circumscribed area. They are also forbidden from taking buses to leave. http://www.hespress.com/permalink/279783.html

Other groups are in similar situations in Taroudant and Agadir. Still others have presumably been left in the desert further South.

On 10th October 2015, there were new brutal raids in Boukhalef and the forests close to Ceuta. In Boukhalef tents were burned, 60 persons arrested and again placed in buses. Others were beaten and fled. Afterwards, Moroccan citizens came, assaulted the migrants who were still present in the camp (including the use of knives), and stole the remaining affairs without any intervention from the Moroccan military. There are many wounded persons.

Trafficking in human beings?
These actions of the Moroccan authorities, who deport and mistreat a targeted population, in return for millions of euros offered by the European Union, do they not amount to human trafficking?

Is this how Europe intends to practice refoulement and repression?

But this was not covered in international media. Eyes are closed to those things that do not want to be seen.

These crimes are instigated and tolerated by the European Union under the framework of ‘good cooperation’ with neighbouring countries in the South.
These crimes are funded by the European Union in order to ‘protect the borders’.
These crimes are perpetrated to ‘protect the economy and security’ of the European Union.

NO BORDER!

THE FORGOTTEN DEAD

Europe kills – every day. For some, these deaths are just numbers, for the Spanish media they are just ‘the body of a Subsaharan man’, but for us, it is daily terror, because our friends, sisters, brothers and the friends of our friends disappear, dying in the sea between Spain and Morocco or at the border between Ceuta and Melilla.

In the last weeks, we learnt about the deaths of many of our friends, and we want to dedicate this article to them. Few of these deaths appear in the media, the majority remain anonymous bodies in the morgues of Ceuta, Nador, Melilla, Motril, Granada, etc.

Around 15th August, a boat with seven Senegalese persons left Tangier from the beach of Malabata, and until today there have been no news from them. The friends of Lat, Aliou and Maguette, they have no choice but to accept the idea that their brothers have died int he sea.
The 25th and 26th of August, the Guardia Civil found two cadavers in the sea in the South of Motril (http://europatropical.net/2015/08/26/se-recupera-el-cuerpo-de-un-segundo-inmigrante-en-aguas-de-motril/
et http://www.eldiario.es/politica/Encuentran-cadaver-inmigrante-Motril-Granada_0_423808396.html), in an advanced state of decompostation. We believe that these are our Senegalese brothers, but the Spanish authorities have not helped us to identify them.

On 31 August, the Guardia Civil found one dead person on the beach of Ceuta. He was identified as Gabin Feller, a young Cameroonian. His travelling companions who survived the danger are shocked. http://politica.elpais.com/politica/2015/08/31/actualidad/1441027654_820973.html

Not even a week later, a second body was found in Ceuta, but it has not been identified until today. But we fear that it is the body of our friend Maodo Ndiaye, a young Senegalese, who left with 4 others to enter Ceuta. When the zodiac sank, the others managed to get to Ceuta, he wanted to try by swimming – an attempt which cost his life. http://www.europapress.es/ceuta-y-melilla/noticia-guardia-civil-salvamento-hallan-cadaver-subsahariano-agua-ceuta-mantienen-busqueda-mas-20150905195512.html

A few days later, a burnt corpse, with one missing arm, was found on the beach of Melilla. The analysis shows that it was a young Moroccan. We think that it is one of our little brothers, one of the Moroccan boys who try to enter Spain by clinging on to large boats. A very dangerous method, sometimes lethal, as probably in this case. http://elfarodigital.es/melilla/sucesos/170560-hallan-un-cadaver-calcinado-en-una-cueva-la-playa-horcas-coloradas-1.html

Just before the festival du mouton, we learnt that a Congolese died in Rabat, on 22 September. He and his two companions had paid a smuggler to bring them to Melilla. However, in a fight, the smugglers killed 2 Congolese, the third one escaped, but succumbed to his wounds several days later.

And we learnt that on 9th October 2015, a Cameroonian and a Guinean died during their attempt to cross the border. The two persons were on a boat which tried to enter Ceuta in the morning of 9th October. However, they were intercepted by the Moroccan Royal Marine, were severely beaten and subsequently died.

PEACE TO THEIR SOULS.

These deaths, these assassinations at the hands of Fortress Europe, only show the few confirmed cases, confirmed either by the press or our own eyes.
However, the morgues in Northern Morocco are full of non-identified corpses. Every time we ask our friends, we are told about even more corpses. Three dead in Tetouan, several dead who were buried in Tangier, nobody knows the truth.
When we begin to make inquiries, the authorities tried us with condescension (especially our Black brothers and sisters) or the police starts to cause us problems (for the European members of the collective).

Europe does not only kill migrants – Europe, with its Moroccan watchdogs, prevents us from seeking the truth and justice.

STOP THE WAR AGAINST MIGRANTS!
BLACK LIVES MATTER!
