Remembering February 6th 2014

06/02/2017:At the start of this year the Spanish court ordered the reopening of investigations into the killings by the Spanish border police Guardia Civil in Tarajal at the beach of Ceuta that took place on February 6^th 2014.

Appel a toutes les personnes touchées par la guerre menée par l’Union Européenne contre les Migrant(e)s et Réfugié(es)

Le 6 février 2014, des centaines de migrant(e)s essayent, dans une action collective, de surmonter la frontière de l’enclave espagnole, Ceuta, par la mer. La Guardia Civil espagnole, en réaction à la tentative d’entrer sur le territoire de l’UE, tira sur les gens qui traversaient à la nage, avec des balles de caoutchouc et avec des gaz lacrymogènes.

Des policiers marocains, soutenus par des racistes autochtones, participèrent aussi à la chasse meurtrière. 15 personnes ont été officiellement tué(e)s et 50 d’entre elles ont été portées disparues! Depuis lors des milliers d’autres ont été tué(e)s , blessé(e)s à la frontière ou refoulé(e)s illégalement vers le Maroc.

Un an après les assassinats – qui s’ajoutent à d’autres qui ont causé la mort et la disparition de migrant(e)s – nous, demandons aux états membres de l’Union Européenne de respecter les droits fondamentaux qui doivent être garantis pour chaque personne dans le monde et pas uniquement aux citoyens occidentaux.

Call-out to all affected by the war waged by the European Union against migrants and refugees.

On 6th February 2014, hundreds of migrants were trying, in a collective action, to overcome the border at the Spanish enclave Ceuta, by sea. The Spanish Guardia Civil, in response to the attempt to enter EU territory, fired on the people in the sea with rubber bullets and tear gas. Moroccan police, supported by racist inhabitants, also participated in the deadly hunt.

15 persons were officially reported dead, and yet over 50 were missing! Thousands more have been killed, injured and pushed-back illegally through the Spanish-Moroccan border since.

A year after this murder – in addition to many others that caused the death and disappearance of migrants – we still demand the member states of the European Union to respect the fundamental rights which must be guaranteed for every person in the world, not only for western citizens.

We express our solidarity with all migrants who risk their lives, continuously pushed to take the desert and the sea to get through the brutal security measurements of the fortress europe and their execution by north-African authorities.
